Moms Across America has long appreciated the dedication and expertise of many leaders in our cause. At the Heirloom Expo Sept 5-7, when I was a part of a panel MCed by Bob McFarland of the CA Guild, (our former fiscal sponsor), Dr. Vandana Shiva, and Robert F. Kennedy on glyphosate, I knew we could not pass up this opportunity to acknowledge these extraordinary people.
In addition, without the support of Pamm Larry and Jere Gettle of Baker Creek Heirloom Seeds, Moms Across America and the progress of our entire movement would not be what it is today, so we were thrilled to present them with awards. Then on Sept 17, at the CCOF Organic Symposium, I was delighted to award Phil LaRocca of LaRocca Vineyards and Board president of CCOF for 3 decades of commitment to growing and protecting organic food.
Without people like Bob, Robert, Vandana, Jere, Pamm, and Phil our organic movement would not be what it is today. Together, lawyers, scientists, farmers, activists, and seed savers, we can create a new future. That future is not dominated by the chemical companies who merely strive to make a profit, it is created by citizens dedicated to thriving in health, freedom, and justice for all. Thank you for your continued support so that we can continue our work, connect and collaborate with extraordinary people such as these, and be proud to live in this country and world with together.
The Moms Across America Healthy Communities Award is for people who have contributed in extraordinary ways to creating healthy communities. It is a sustainable bamboo wood cutting board, Made in the USA.

Pamm Larry, a grandma and midwife from Northern California was the instigator of Prop 37 GMO Labeling initiative, the rabble-rouser for California activists, and the number one troublemaker for the food industry.
When Pamm described to me why she took on creating a statewide ballot initiative with no previous experience, she said it came to her in that in-between state of sleep and awakening. It wasn’t a conscious decision, but a knowing.
Pamm’s experience represents the state of country...we are in that in-between state of a sleep and awake. Many of us are realizing that “knowing”...that it is up to us, to do what needs to be done. We may not know how, we may not want to, but we do it.
Pamm Larry knew what needed to be done and did it. She traveled the state and met with thousands of people to support them in realizing that “knowing”, becoming an activist and taking a stand for our health and freedom. Her initiative sparked ballot initiatives everywhere which gave us the biggest win that we could have as a nation...people waking up and knowing what needed to be done. She did that for me. Moms Across America is her grandbaby.
Pamm’s support of the creation of Moms Across America was crucial, as she represents a guardian of our movement.
Today she supports many more groups, GMO Free USA, GMO-Free California, farmers, GMO-Free Zones, Indigenous peoples, and the Good Food Brigade Network. Always a passionate, honest, and determined force of nature one can know that if Pamm is involved, things around us that have never before moved, will move.
It is with great pleasure and deepest gratitude that Moms Across America presents Pamm Larry with the Healthy Communities Award for your extraordinary courage and commitment to create health and freedom for all.

For decades, Dr. Vandana Shiva has been leading the global movement to protect the very source of life, seeds, and freedom. Her dedication began with academics, earning multiple degrees in science and the environment. Her influence has extended far beyond the academic world, however. Her work inspires farmers in India, children in California, monks in China, people on all continents, and women to rise up around the world.
There are too many books and accomplishments of Dr. Vandana Shiva to mention them all now but one is that... In 1991 she founded Navdanya, a national movement to protect the diversity and integrity of living resources – especially native seed – and to promote organic farming and fair trade. In 2004, Dr. Shiva also started Bija Vidyapeeth, an international college for sustainable living in Doon Valley in collaboration with Schumacher College, U.K. For decades Dr. Shiva has tirelessly traveled around the world to raise awareness about GMOs and toxic chemical farming, inspiring activism, and empowerment everywhere.
Dr. Vandana Shiva is a brilliant woman whose vision gives the world faith, hope, and the pathway to not only save the world but to create a thriving world where we do not focus on corporate profits, power, and dominance, but a world where strong communities value each other, respect the earth, rule with justice and live in freedom.
We are grateful you inspired us Dr.Shiva, to co-create Mothers Across the World and we look forward to the expansion of empowering mothers everywhere.
It is a great honor, on behalf of Moms Across America, to present Dr. Vandana Shiva with the Healthy Communities Award for your extraordinary courage and commitment to create health and freedom for all.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has already been given numerous awards for his extraordinary work as an American radio host, environmental activist, author, and attorney specializing in environmental law.
Today we acknowledge your contribution to many communities as President of the Board of Waterkeeper Alliance, a non-profit organization focused on grass-roots efforts to protect and enhance waterways worldwide. Your tenacity to protect our waterways has an impact around the world and for generations to come.
We thank you for championing the World Mercury Project and supporting children's health. By shining a light on the lack of scientific integrity in our system you inspire all of us to bring integrity into our families and our world.
As a mother who has been struggling with my children's health issues and as someone who has wanted to sue the heck out of Monsanto for years... I personally thank you and your entire team. I thank you for suing Monsanto and holding them to account. Moms Across America thanks your family for sharing you with the world, for understanding how much we need you to continue to challenge the status quo. It is with utmost gratitude that we acknowledge your service to children, to mother and fathers and people who love their families, water, life and this earth. It is with great respect that Moms Across America awards Robert F. Kennedy Jr with the Healthy Communities Award for your extraordinary courage and commitment to create health and freedom for all.

Bob McFarland has been the CA Guild President for years, faithfully serving his community for decades. Bob is a unique type of leader. His thoughtful and steadfast mannerism are always peppered with humor and salted with straight talk. He inspires people to be authentic, to be passionate and to enjoy life along the way. And couldn't we use more of that?
In your own words, that you used to acknowledge Diana Rude of the CA Guild, I now repeat them about you.
I quote with slight alterations...
"How many of us know and can appreciate that for many years, you've worked so very hard for our community with such great patience, passion and dedication. Not many of us know and can appreciate how difficult it was, at times. Still, you persevered.
And always, without a hint of self interest or indulgence, setting the example for the rest of us. The cause is greater than ourselves. You continue to be a hero, a mentor, an inspiration to all of us.
For all you've done, for all of us, for the Guild, for veterans, for families, for farming -- I cannot thank you enough.
Someday, many years from now, somewhere, a child will be eating a healthy meal, prepared with fresh food grown on her veteran-farmer mother or father's family farm - and it will be because of what you have done, Bob, and your team, for all of us." End of quote
Bob McFarland also supported Moms Across America at our inception with the fiscal sponsorship support of his organization. Your support helped to create a nationwide and global movement which is making a difference for millions. Your faith is changing the world.
We are deeply honored to be able to work with Bob and all of the CA Guild team. We thank you Bob, your wife, and family and all of the CA Guild members for your continued dedication to creating healthy communities. We acknowledge you as an unstoppable force of love, leadership, and laughter.
Moms Across America is proud to present Bob McFarland with the Healthy Communities Award for your extraordinary commitment to create health and freedom for all.

Moms Across America is thrilled to acknowledge the long-standing leadership of Phil LaRocca for the organic movement.
Phil lead the way for many others by being the first certified organic apple grower in 1975 and then transitioned to organic wine and grape growing with no added sulfites. His commitment to innovative, environmentally friendly farming practices makes a difference for wine drinkers, wildlife around his farm, the earth, and future generations.
Moms Across America commends Phil’s courage to test his wine for glyphosate and we were delighted when it presented as not detectable for glyphosate. We also acknowledge his dedication to making grape growing and farming toxin free for everyone.
Phil has been active with CCOF since its inception and has spent the last 40 years advocating for organic farming. He is a tireless advocate who is often found at meetings, conferences, and events throughout the state and country. He was active in the creation of the California Organic Food Production Act of 1990, participated in creating the regulations for organic wine with the National Organic Program, and was recently appointed to the California Organic Products Advisory Committee.
As chair of the CCOF Board of Directors, Phil LaRocca continuously dedicates time to CCOF’s members. LaRocca represents the North Valley Chapter, but goes above and beyond his core duties by attending chapter meetings across the state. LaRocca is also a mainstay at National Organic Standards Board meetings and has represented organic in Washington DC and internationally
Moms Across America is proud to present Phil LaRocca with the Healthy Communities Award for your courage and commitment to create health and freedom for all.
