3. "Children of the Vine" - 11月 1 in Asheville
Join us for a special screening of "Children of the Vine," a captivating documentary that explores the relationship between food, health, and the environment.
Reposted: "Children of the Vine" is a deeply unsettling investigation into the controversial herbicide Roundup and its impact on public health. With 3.6 billion pounds of Roundup sprayed annually on crops grown in the U.S., "Children of the Vine" couldn’t be more timely. At the center of this controversy is glyphosate, the primary active ingredient in Monsanto’s Roundup. How did glyphosate become so pervasive that it’s in our air, water, soil, food and routinely found in our bodies? And why are countries banning Roundup while U.S. farmers use more of it than any other country in the world? From America’s heartland in Lone Jack, Missouri, to Bakersfield, California, award winning filmmaker Brian Lilla speaks with both farmers who depend on Roundup and those who are paying the ultimate price for spraying it. In the end, "Children of the Vine" reveals a growing movement of organic, biodynamic and regenerative land management practices that are positively affecting agriculture and the environment.
Moms Across America Editor’s Note: Moms Across America's Executive Director, Zen Honeycutt, will be featured on a panel with scientist Paul J. Mills and farmer Howard Vlieger at the screening in Asheville, North Carolina on 11月 1.
